Abstract
2-Bromobenzaldehyde reacts diastereoselectively with chiral alkanolami nes under carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalytic amount of bis (triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) chloride to afford the corresponding tricyclic isoindolinones in moderate to good yields.
