Abstract
The reaction of MnCl2 with Mg{OCH2CH(CH2)(3)O)}(2)] in EtOH results in a mixed Mg-II/Mn-II tetranuclear complex, rakis{chloro(ethoxo)[magnes ium(II),magnesium(II)]} hemiethanol solvate, 5,Mn-0.5)(4)Cl-4(C2H6O)4( C5H9O2)(4)].0.5C(2)H(6)O, in which all metal sites have distorted octa hedral coordination spheres and metal ions together with alkoxo O atom s form a cubane-like framework.
