Abstract
In the title compound, [Ru(NO2)(C19H13N5)(C18H15P)(2)]ClO4.C2H6O, the two phosphine ligands are in trans positions. The Ru atom and imidazol ylpyridine moiety are almost coplanar, with the fused ring of the imid azolyl groups somewhat bent from the plane due to the steric hindrance of the phosphine phenyl groups. The nitro ligand is coordinated so th at the NO2 group is rotated 40.5(1)degrees from the imidazolylpyridine plane.
