methylthio)-25,26,27,28-tetrapropoxycalix[4]arene, C44H56O4S4, adopts
a 'distorted-cone' conformation in the solid state. This distortion fr
om a perfect cone shape is well known from other structural studies of
calix[4]arene derivatives. Two opposite benzene rings lean towards on
e another forming a dihedral angle of -15(1)degrees, while the other t
wo lean away from one another and form an angle of 108 (1)degrees.
