A radioautographic study of [H-3]-choline was performed in the motor e
ndplate region of the frog. The incorporation of the radioactive ligan
d was detected in the motor nerve terminal, as already seen in previou
s experiments. A dense labeling was observed in fibrocytes of the moto
r endplate region. Such substantial incorporation of choline in the fi
brocytes, which has not been reported so far, brings new suggestions c
oncerning the role of non-neural cells in the cholinergic metabolism.
