Jj. Kallolil et al., EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF EMBEDDED STEEL PLATES IN REINFORCED-CONCRETE STRUCTURES, Engineering structures, 20(1-2), 1997, pp. 105-112
An experimental investigation has been performed to study the behaviou
r of a typical embedded steel plate anchor assembly under common type
of loading. Three full scale specimens were tested with vertical load
(eccentric) and horizontal load, all acting in the same plane causing
uni-axial moment on the embedded plate. Effects of variation of eccent
ricity in the application of primary vertical load were studied by sub
jecting the specimen to vertical loads at different eccentricities. An
chor strains, plate strains and plate deformations were observed and a
nalyzed in order to know the behaviour of the system. Finally, the res
ults of the experimental investigation have been compared with the cur
rently adopted concrete beam analogy method for designing such embedde
d plates. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
