Nm. Sammes et Ce. Hatchwell, OPTIMIZATION OF SLIP-CAST LA0.8SR0.2CRO3 PEROVSKITE MATERIAL FOR USE AS AN INTERCONNECT IN SOFC APPLICATIONS, Materials letters, 32(5-6), 1997, pp. 339-345
La0.8Sr0.2CrO3, for use as an interconnect material for solid oxide fu
el cell(SOFC) applications, can be fabricated via a number of differen
t routes, including slip casting. This work examines the effect of the
various slip compositions on the integrity of the green ceramic. with
only the successful slips being sintered, The most successful slip co
mposition was 2 wt% KDI(TM) dispersant, 8 wt% poly vinyl-butyral binde
r, and 8 wt% plasticiser (50:50 volume mixture of di-n-butyl phthalate
: polyethylene glycol), in a 31% toluene:69% 2-propanol solvent system
, producing a sintered body with over 96% theoretical density, when si
ntered at 1600 degrees C.
