S. Nonaka et K. Osamura, INFLUENCE OF CALCINING TEMPERATURE ON CRITICAL-CURRENT DENSITY OF AG BI2223 TAPES/, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 281(2-3), 1997, pp. 205-210
The influence of calcining temperature on critical current density (J(
c)) of Ag/Bi2223 tapes has been investigated as a preparing condition
for the powder-in-tube method. When the oxide powder was calcined at t
emperatures between 973 and 1033 K, the dominant phase constituting th
e calcined powder was Bi3.0Sr2.3Ca3.2Cu1.5Ox (3430ss). However, it was
2212 phase when the powder was calcined at temperatures between 1043
and 1093 K. The highest values of J(c) were achieved with tapes prepar
ed using the powder calcined at 1013-1033 K. This is attributable to t
he fact that the formation rate of the 2223 phase becomes faster in th
is temperature range and its volume fraction is maximized. (C) 1997 El
