R. Bartnikas, PERFORMANCE-CHARACTERISTICS OF DIELECTRICS IN THE PRESENCE OF SPACE-CHARGE, IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation, 4(5), 1997, pp. 544-557
The short and long-term dielectric behavior of a number of representat
ive electrical insulating systems is compared in the presence of space
charge. Dielectric materials, used both in the communications and pow
er application areas, are considered, in this overview, particular att
ention is given to thin inorganic films, organic solid-liquid and soli
d polymer systems as regards to the manner in which space charge affec
ts their dielectric loss, voltage breakdown, treeing and electrical ag
ing characteristics.
