Abstract
This article provides an overview of trends and changes to state laws and regulations governing the practice of nurse-midwifery in the Unite d States from 1995 to 1997. It includes tables documenting state requi rements related to education, certification, Medicaid and third-party reimbursement, prescriptive, authority, graduate practice, birth cente rs, regulatory oversight and postpartum discharge.
