Abstract
During the optical resolution of racemic N-methylamphetamine by half a n equivalent of R,R-tartaric acid in the presence of half an equivalen t of hydrochloric acid the tartrate salt of the R-base precipitates wi th a low optical purity. The optical purity of the precipitated salt i s increased by enantiomer exchange between the solid and solvent phase .
