Ps. Bashforth et al., A NOTE ON THE CONTACT TEMPERATURE DURING HIGH-PECLET-NUMBER FLOW OVERA FLAT SUBSTRATE, International journal of heat and mass transfer, 41(1), 1998, pp. 3-9
Knowledge of the temperature at the interface between a hot liquid spr
eading over a cold solid substrate is important in determining the nat
ure and extent of any freezing of the spreading liquid and/or melting
of the substrate. In this paper, a simple model is studied to assess t
he influence of convection on the spatial and temporal variation of th
e interface temperature; New solutions are determined by both analytic
al and approximate numerical techniques. The theoretical and numerical
results are compared in the case of slug Row and shown to be in good
agreement Shear flow and axisymmetric flow are also considered. (C) 19
