Although primary hepatic lymphoma is rare, it should be considered in
the differential diagnosis of a hepatic tumor, because it is usually a
ssociated with a favorable prognosis. This report describes an unusual
case of primary hepatic lymphoma with an atypical presentation (only
mild, right upper quadrant pain and no hepatomegaly) followed by acute
fulminating hepatic failure, metabolic acidosis, followed by a rapidl
y fatal course. A review of the literature and discussion of the disea
se are also presented.
