Am. Duda et al., COORDINATION OF COPPER(II) AND NICKEL(II) IONS BY A NOVEL OPEN-CHAIN OXIME LIGAND, Journal of the Chemical Society. Dalton transactions, (20), 1997, pp. 3853-3859
Potentiometric spectroscopic and X-ray studies of the open chain oxime
ligand, '-bis(2-hydroxyimino-propionyl)propane-1,3-diamine and its co
mplexes with Ni-II and Cu-II ions showed a very high efficacy of the l
igand studied in the co-ordination of both Cu-II and Ni-II ions. The m
etal complexes are very stable and square-planar with four nitrogens i
nvolved in metal-ion binding. These complexes may be additionally stab
ilised by hydrogen bonds between two oxime oxygen atoms.
