Abstract
In this work, the problem of generation of electromagnetic waves by gr avitational wave propagating in external stationary electromagnetic fi eld has been studied. It is shown that the equation of this process ca n be transformed into much simpler equations for superpotentials of el ectromagnetic field. The exact solutions for the superpotentials in th e case of plane and spherical gravitational waves have been found. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.
