Abstract
A simple two step method for the synthesis of three novel C-2 symmetri c 2,6-diarylalkyloxybenzaldehydes is described. Starting from resorcin ol, the route involves double Mitsunobu reaction with chiral alcohols followed by regiospecific lithiation and formylation. (C) 1997 Elsevie r Science Ltd.
