Abstract
The coefficients of translational diffusion, intrinsic viscosities, an d flow birefringence are investigated for the fractions of three aroma tic polyesters with dimethylsiloxane links in backbone chains. It was found that the Kuhn segment experiences certain increase with decreasi ng length of flexible link in the chains of the polyesters. Difference s in the mesogenic properties of the polymers studied are discussed. T he optical anisotropy of the monomeric units and anisotropy per unit l ength of the molecular chain are measured.
