Abstract
A laser time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometer is intended for the ele mental analysis of solid samples. The TOF analyzer of the instrument i s based on a cylindrical capacitor. The resolution at half-maximum is 1000. The mass spectrometer has a dynamic range of 8 orders and a dete ction limit of 10(-5)%. The sample-scanning area is similar to 20 mm(2 ). The time needed for one analysis is less than 10-15 min; time for c hanging the sample is within 5-10 min.
