Vv. Ilin et al., A MULTICHANNEL SYSTEM FOR MEASURING THE RADIATION ENERGY OF HIGH-POWER PULSED LASERS, Instruments and experimental techniques, 40(4), 1997, pp. 540-543
A system for measuring the energy of high-power laser pulses with leng
ths ranging from picoseconds to milliseconds is described, Measurement
s can be performed for energies ranging from 0.02 to hundreds of milli
joules. The system contains a set of pyroelectric radiation sensors po
sitioned at different test points of the laser channel and a 8- or 16-
channel plug-in ADC card inserted into the free slot of an IBM PC. The
software ensures the visual monitoring of each measurement channel wi
th subsequent prompt processing, including signal smoothing, subtracti
on of the background level, search far the maximum, and multiplication
by the calibration factor. The program also provides for measuring th
e energy of directed (laser) and isotropic (from a point source) radia
tion.
