Ev. Chaplinskaya et al., RECIPROCAL RELATIONS BETWEEN THE LEVELS O F BETA-NGF, THYROXINE AND TESTOSTERONE IN MICE BLOOD-SERUM, Doklady Akademii nauk BSSR, 41(4), 1997, pp. 82-86
Blood levels of (beta)-NGF, thyroxin and testosterone in mice were stu
died to clear up their reciprocal relations. If was found that single
injection of thyroxin (1,25 mg/g body weight (BW)) induced a sharp inc
rease in serum NGF while testosterone (5mg/g BW) failed to produce any
significant change during 24 hours-observation, Mice treated with NGF
(10 mg/g BW) showed a 2,5 - fold elevation of blood serum thyroxin 6
h after injection followed by the recovery of the control value. Testo
sterone slighly decreased in 6 h after injection and then increased in
12 h and 24 h. Both hormones, though not equally, influenced the cont
ent of NGF in the sub-mandibular salivary gland and brain.
