The effect of laser irradiation (LI) on the photosensitized (PHS) hemo
lysis of rabbit erythrocytes was investigated. Two photosensitizers of
domestic production were used: Photohem (hematoporphyrin derivate) an
d Photosense (sulfonated phthalocyanine aluminium). The erythrocytes h
emolysis was activated by LI in the presence of Photohem or Photosense
. These process depended on the irradiation dose, photosensitizers con
centration, and on the time of erythrocyte incubation with the photose
nsitizers. Three lasers with wavelength of 520, 632,8, 850 nm were use
d. It was found out that the PHS hemolysis of rabbit erythrocytes was
inhibited by antioxidants.
