Abstract
Comparative study of cumene hydroperoxide effects on the Ca2+-induced Ca2+ efflux from rat liver and Zaidelja hepatoma mitochondria were car ried out. Cumene hydroperoxide in micromolar concentrations (0,3-10 mu M) prevented closing of the permiability transition pore in the inner mitochondrial membrane and, therefore, potentiated the Ca2+-induced C a2+ efflux from hepatoma mitochondria, The effect of cumene hydroperox ide on hepatoma mitochondria was 10-100 times higher than an far liver mitochondria. It was found that cumene hydroperoxide in micromolar co ncentrations induced the death hepatoma cell in vitro.
