The phonon-phonon interaction and phonon thermal conductivity in stron
gly anisotropic quasi-two-dimensional systems are considered. Much att
ention is being given to the low-frequency bending (out-of-plane) phon
ons which can give rise to a low-temperature local maximum in the T de
pendence of the in-plane thermal conductivity lambda. The effect of th
e system anisotropy on lambda is consistently studied. The results lea
d to an interesting interpretation of the anomalous behavior of the in
-plane thermal conductivity in strongly anisotropic systems.
