The reaction of dipotassium bis(dithiocarbonate)s from diethylene, tri
ethylene, and tetraethylene glycols with dibromoalkanes or ethereal ox
ygen-containing diiodides under high-dilution conditions gave 1:1 reac
tion products, 14-25-membered macrocyclic bis(dithiocarbonic ester)s.
From dimethyl esters of the bis(dithiocarbonic acid)s and diamino-alka
nes or ethereal oxygen-containing diamines, macrocyclic bis(thiocarbam
ate)s were obtained.
