Mv. Mebel et al., ANALYSIS OF ISOTOPE YIELDS AND EXCITATION-FUNCTIONS FOR FISSILE AND NON-FISSILE NUCLEI WITH CEF AND HMS-ALICE CODES, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 398(2-3), 1997, pp. 324-342
The CEF and ALICE nuclear reaction codes are benchmarked;via compariso
ns with activation yields for proton-induced reactions in the range of
50 MeV to 1.8 GeV with targets of Ni-58,Ni-62, Bi-209, Th-232, and U-
238. The CEF code results are presented over the entire energy range,
whereas results for the ALICE code are given only up to 480 MeV incide
nt proton energy. Different targets have been irradiated in different
energy intervals. The codes are generally succesful in reproducing the
experimental yields and yield patterns. For the ALICE code, we find a
n underestimation of multiple charged particle emission in heavy eleme
nts.
