Abstract
The Chinese Mitten Crab Eriocheir sinensis H. Milne-Edwards, 1854, was found in Normandy, for the first time, in 1943. Since this date, more than 50 crabs have been taken in the estuary of the Seine or in the s hip-canals and the basins of the inner seaport of Le Havre. This paper gives details of reported occurrences in the estuary and discusses th ese in relation to the biology and the behaviour of this allochtonous and catadromous species.
