Rm. Souto et al., KINETICS AND MECHANISM OF THE ELECTROREDUCTION OF ANODIC LAYERS PRODUCED ON COPPER IN PHOSPHATE-CONTAINING AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS, Anales de quimica, 93(4), 1997, pp. 252-259
The kinetics and mechanism of the electroreduction of anodic layers fo
rmed on copper in sodium phosphate solution at pH values close to neut
rality have been investigated using potentiodynamic and potentiostatic
techniques. The participation of copper oxide and copper phosphate co
mponents in the anodic layer is concluded, and their electroreduction
can be modelled through nucleation and growth formalisms by considerin
g a charge transfer control for the process.
