I. Medina et Jl. Martinez, EXTRACTION OF ETHANOL FROM AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS USING SUBCRITICAL AND SUPERCRITICAL CARBON-DIOXIDE, Anales de quimica, 93(4), 1997, pp. 267-270
The performance of a high pressure plant for the extraction of ethanol
from aqueous solutions using carbon dioxide was studied. Supercritica
l and liquid carbon dioxide were used to extract ethanol at pressures
of 80 to 300 bar and 20 to 60 degrees C in a countercurrent column of
3 cm internal diameter. The effects of temperature, pressure and solve
nt to feed ratio on mass transfer are examined.
