Abstract
Scenedesmus quadricauda (1.5 x 10(6) cells/ml) grown in myxotrophic co nditions reduced in good yields (greater than or equal to 63%) exogeno us adrenosterone to 11-ketotestosterone. Cultures preadapted on glucos e, saccharose or starch (10 mg/l) biotransformed about 80% of adrenost erone (100 mg/l) in seven days. Almost quantitative yields of bioconve rsion were afforded at higher algal biomass.
