Abstract
The structure of the title compound, tetrakis(1-methylimidazole-N3)cop per(II) bis(triiodide), consists of square-planar coordinated [Cu(C4H6 N2)4]2+ cations and symmetric triiodide anions I3-, which form long co ntacts with the cations. In the neutral complex, four coplanar N atoms and two triiodide ions form the expected quasioctahedral coordination around Cu.
