Abstract
Let us consider a triangular meshing of a surface, say omega, the vert ices of which are on omega. Moreover, the unit normal vectors are supp osed to be known at each vertex. Our goal is to interpolate this surfa ce as simply as possible, in order to do mesh refinement. In this Note , we suggest a method based on a local approximation of each edge by t hird degree polynomial functions, the normal vectors being obtained by linear interpolation. This method is evaluated on representative exam ples.
