M. Calabek et al., ANALYSIS OF POSITIVE-PLATE RESISTANCE DURING CYCLING AND THE EFFECT OF COMPRESSION, Journal of power sources, 67(1-2), 1997, pp. 85-91
An electrochemical cell is designed and constructed to enable in situ
measurements of the resistance of both the active mass and the interph
ase between the current-collector and the active mass in lead/acid tes
t electrodes during cycling at well-defined degrees of compression ran
ging from zero to 90 kPa. Preliminary results of measurements on posit
ive electrodes are well reproducible and show that, after conditioning
cycles, both the interphase resistance and the active-mass resistance
are independent of compression. Time changes of the two resistances a
re also studied and discussed. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science
