K. Kim et S. Moon, DYNAMIC MULTI-GRANULARITY LOCKING FOR COORDINATING COOPERATIVE ACTIVITIES, Journal of systems architecture, 44(2), 1997, pp. 131-142
This paper presents a new concurrency control scheme, Dynamic multi-gr
anularity locking (DMGL), for coordinating cooperative activities. Unl
ike the previous approaches, it can be tuned to different requirements
of various groupwork environments. DMGL adopts multi-granularity lock
s to minimize locking overhead, but those locks can be dynamically rec
onfigured to access conflicts in order to support a high degree of con
currency.
