Dy. Chiang, MODELING AND IDENTIFICATION OF ELASTIC-PLASTIC SYSTEMS USING THE DISTRIBUTED-ELEMENT MODEL, Journal of engineering materials and technology, 119(4), 1997, pp. 332-336
A modeling technique is proposed for a class Of distributed-element mo
dels, which is able to account for the multi-axial Bauschinger effect
without arty additional kinematic hardening rules. The parameters asso
ciated with each of the elements in the model are specified by introdu
cing an appropriate strength distribution function so as to make the m
odel parsimonious in parameters regardless of the number of elements i
ntroduced in the model. Validity of the proposed modeling technique, i
n both modeling and identification of elastic-plastic systems, is demo
nstrated by biaxial tension-torsion applications using experimental re
sults from the literature.
