E. Wollenweber et al., RARE FLAVONOIDS FROM ODIXIA AND OZOTHAMNUS SPP. (ASTERACEAE, GNAPHALIEAE), Zeitschrift fur Naturforschung. C, A journal of biosciences, 52(9-10), 1997, pp. 571-576
Representatives of the genera Odixia and Ozothamnus, Australian Astera
ceae belonging to the tribe Gnaphalieae, have been analyzed for the pr
esence of flavonoid aglycones accumulated on leaf and stem surfaces. F
iftytwo more or less lipophilic flavonoids have been identified. Methy
l ethers of apigenin, luteolin, kaempferol and quercetin are abundant,
while rare methyl ethers of isoscutellarein, 8-hydroxy galangin, herb
acetin and gossypetin appear to be characteristic. The distribution of
rare flavonoids is discussed.
