Abstract
Twinning defects are shown to form at early stages of the electrolytic deposition of tungsten from a polytungstate melt. Indexes of the conj ugate planes between the matrix and the twin formation are determined. Adsorption of impurities at the substrate surface is put forth as the reason for the emergence of twin structures.
