A. Segura et A. Chevy, LARGE INCREASE OF THE LOW-FREQUENCY DIELECTRIC-CONSTANT OF GALLIUM SULFIDE UNDER HYDROSTATIC-PRESSURE, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 49(7), 1994, pp. 4601-4604
The pressure dependence of the low-frequency dielectric constant of la
yered gallium sulfide, parallel to the c axis, is investigated through
capacitance measurements. The measured pressure coefficient DELTA(lne
psilon(parallel-to))/DELTAP is found to be (80+/-5) X 10(-3) GPa-1. Th
is large and positive pressure coefficient is shown to be coherent wit
h models of charge transfer from the Ga-Ga intralayer bond to the inte
rlayer space under pressure.
