Abstract
In this paper ave discuss some points concerning the design of an on-c hip electronic refrigerator based on low-resistance tunnel junctions. We describe our Nb/AlOx/Cu (SIN) and Nb/AlOx/Cu/Al (SINS') junctions a nd we report on the measurements of their I-V characteristics between 10 K and 0.3 K, showing that the junctions of the first type are suita ble for the refrigerator fabrication.
