Abstract
Velocity modulated laser absorption spectrum of the TiCl+ molecular io n was recorded in the yellow-green spectral region. The ions were gene rated in a 25 kHz ac discharge through flowing samples of TiCl4 in Ar. The [17.9](3) Delta-X-3 Phi and [17.9](3) Delta-(1)(3) Delta band sys tems of TiCl+ were recorded and analyzed. We report the results of a d eperturbation analysis of the X-3 Phi and (1)(3) Delta states. A multi configuration ligand field calculation was used to account for the obs erved electronic states of TiCl+. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physi cs.
