J. Barek et al., DETERMINATION OF 1-HYDROXYPYRENE USING HI GH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY WITH ELECTROCHEMICAL DETECTION, Chemicke listy, 91(10), 1997, pp. 871-876
Optimum conditions are described for HPLC determination of 1-hydroxypy
rene with electrochemical detection (ED) giving the detection limit si
milar to 1.10(-8) mol.l(-1). This detection limit was compared with th
at for UV spectrophotometric detection (similar to 1.10(-7) mol.l(-1))
and fluorimetric detection (similar to 5.10(-10) mol.l(-1)). It was d
emonstrated that HPLC-ED can be used for the determination of 1-hydrox
ypyrene in urine down to 1.10(-7) mol.l(-1) and thus for biological mo
nitoring of human exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
