Abstract
The energies of bound vibrational levels supported by the attractive p otential well in the interaction of a neutral hydrogen atom and a mult iply charged nitrogen atom am calculated in the diabatic representatio n. Their rates of depopulation through predissociation to other ion-io n channels are evaluated and compared with the rate of spontaneous emi ssion.
