Abstract
The advantages of aerosol medications include the direct, topical appl ication to the target organ (airways); rapid effect; and low systemic availability. There are now more efficient methods for aerosol deliver y that facilitate the use-of increasingly sophisticated aerosol drugs. This article reviews the principles of aerosol deposition and the pha rmacology of current medications.
