Abstract
A new Occurrence of carbonatite with significant radioactivity (0.038% eU(3)O(8)) and a conspicuous fenitised zone is being reported for the first time in the western peripheral parts of the Prakasam alkaline p rovince, Andhra Pradesh. Besides U, the carbonatite is enriched in P, Fe, Ba, Sr, Ce and Y.
