Abstract
The residual carbon content in BaTiO3, ceramics synthesized by the cit ric resin route has been determined by C-12(d,p)C-13 nuclear reaction technique. The C content inside ceramics depends on sintering conditio ns (heating rate, final temperature), and grain size. The deposition o f carbon from the atmosphere as a function of time at the surface and in the subsurface layer of different ceramics exposed to air or to ult ra-high vacuum was investigated.
