Jm. Arandes et al., TRANSFORMATION OF SEVERAL PLASTIC WASTES INTO FUELS BY CATALYTIC CRACKING, Industrial & engineering chemistry research, 36(11), 1997, pp. 4523-4529
The thermal and catalytic cracking of several plastic wastes (polyprop
ylene, polystyrene, polystyrene-polybutadiene) dissolved in refinery L
CO has been studied in a riser simulator, under operating conditions (
catalyst, temperature, contact time, C/O ratio) that are similar to co
mmercial FCC units. The results of the product distribution show the i
nterest of this strategy, which may be integrated into refinery operat
ion for large-scale tertiary exploitation of plastic wastes.
