Fifteen ascidian species were identified from 1 to 12 m depth in coast
al waters of Bahrain, Arabian Gulf. Three new species, Aplidium rubrip
unctum, Didemnum yolky and Symplegma bahraini are described. Four spec
ies collected are cosmopolitan. This study increases knowledge of the
ascidian fauna of an area for which only sporadic collections have pre
viously been made.
