Solid solution ceramics having various ratios between Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O-3
and PbZrO3 were synthesized by a conventional solid state reaction. F
or well sintered specimens, dielectric, piezoelectric and ferroelectri
c properties were studied as a function of composition as well as of t
emperature. Maximum values obtained at room temperature are: the reman
ent polarization P-r=24.6 mu C/cm(2), the electromechanical coupling c
oefficient k(33)=0.32 and the piezoelectric constant d(33)=56.Ox10(-12
) C/N. Based on these experimental results combined with an XRD study,
the phase diagram for the system of Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O-3-PbZrO3 was final
ly determined, except for the narrow range near the end member Pb(Fe2/
3W1/3)O-3.
