Cx. Wu et M. Iwamoto, ANALYSIS OF DIELECTRIC-DISPERSION PROPERTY OF ORGANIC MONOLAYER FILMSON A MATERIAL SURFACE, JPN J A P 1, 36(9A), 1997, pp. 5570-5574
Using the differential equation of the orientational order parameter r
epresenting the transient behavior of monolayers, which is derived fro
m the Debye Brownian rotational motion equation, the dielectric disper
sion of organic monolayers on a material surface was analyzed. It was
found that the equations representing the dielectric dispersion of org
anic monolayers satisfy the relations by Debye, although the dielectri
c relaxation time depends on the spatial restriction of the monolayers
, the Coulomb interaction between the molecules as well as the interac
tion between the molecules and the substrates. Finally, we discuss the
dielectric relaxation of monolayers on the basis of the experimental
results on L-alpha-dimyristoyl, phosphatidylcholine (DMPC) multilayers
