The absorption of CO2 in Na2CO3/NaHCO3 buffer solutions (0.5M-0.5M) ha
s taken place inthe presence of saccarose, glucose, fructose or glycer
in, using a wet wall column and in the conditions for a pseudofirst or
der reaction. The experimental results have been analyzed from the poi
nt of view of Higbie theorie for a pseudofirst order reaction, and the
overall kinetic coefficients for every solute and concentration have
been determined. The obtained values were correlated with the solute c
oncentration by means of similar expressions to the given in the liter
atur for sodium arsenite, current catalyst in CO2 absorption in buffer
solutions of sodium carbonate/bicarbonate. The values of the respecti
ve adjustment parameters k(0) an k(cat) are supplied. There have also
been evaluated the respective exaltation factors and they have been co
mpared with the ones obtained by means of theoretical patterns.
