Abstract
We describe a technique in which one-handed phacoemulsification with l ow aspiration flow and vacuum is performed with a peristaltic pump mac hine. With this technique, ultrasonic energy can be used for nucleus s egmentation without the need for a second instrument. Measurements in cadaver eyes and clinical experience showed the technique to be simple , effective, and safe.
